Ian Jack, a non-executive Director of Pixelle, brought on board for his insight in transactional and commercial matters, is renowned for his wide experience and expertise in law and has been acknowledged as a leading figure in both Chambers and Legal 500 for his exceptional proficiency in restructuring, project finance, and acquisition finance, amongst other areas. At one time he was listed concurrently in five separate finance categories.
Mr Jack held a pivotal position as a Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig LLP, operating out of The Shard in London where he worked across finance and restructuring and was the founding partner of the UK arm of the firm’s Global Restructuring & Bankruptcy. Under his leadership, he provided strategic counsel to clients on a diverse spectrum of restructuring, banking and finance transactions.
Prior to that, Mr Jack was a partner at Baker & McKenzie LP for over 20 years. During his time with the firm’s London office, he co-headed the Global Restructuring & Insolvency team for a decade and was a prominent member of the Banking & Finance Practice Group. Throughout his career at Baker & McKenzie LP, he garnered a reputation for delivering sound and insightful advice on a wide range of banking and finance matters, including projects, acquisitions, property financings, and restructurings.
Ian Jack’s notable contributions to various transactions include advising principal parties, including a leading international airline on the successful sale of a subsidiary airline, providing guidance to the steering committee of creditors in the USD $16.7 billion restructuring of a leading Kazakh bank’s financial indebtedness, and offering expert advice to the project sponsors on the EURO €1.6 billion project financing for a tolled section of the Berlin to Moscow highway. Additionally, he played a key role in assisting senior lenders in relation to the debt restructuring and receivership sale of the iconic Gherkin skyscraper in London. His expertise also extended to advising the bidder on the EURO €14 billion financing for its bid for Portugal Telecom, among numerous other significant transactions.
Mr Jack’s academic background includes an LL.B. from the University of Exeter and an L.S.F. from the College of Law at Guildford, following which he was admitted to practice law in England and Wales and qualified as a Solicitor and became a JIEB-qualified professional. His dedication to his field was further exemplified by his membership in INSOL International, where he served as the Co-Technical Chair for INSOL Dubai in 2016.
